FAQs About CoolSculpting® Elite

One of the most popular non-surgical body contouring treatments available, CoolSculpting® Elite offers a solution to stubborn fat that doesn’t seem to respond to diet and exercise. However, there are a few things you should know about this procedure to help you decide if it could be right for you.

If you’re thinking about getting CoolSculpting® Elite to fine tune your fitness results, take a look at these frequently asked questions answered by CoolSculpting® Elite specialist Ashley Blaser. Ashley has been expertly trained at CoolSculpting® University (CSU), a training facility located at the Zeltiq headquarters in California, where she received advanced training and hours of hands-on practice and lectures to perfect the art of CoolSculpting® Elite.

1.  How do I know if CoolSculpting is right for me?

CoolSculpting® Elite can be a beneficial treatment for anyone frustrated with stubborn fat along the arms, legs, submental area (double chin), or trunk. Potential patients should be in relatively good health, understand the CoolSculpting process, and hold reasonable expectations for the results. CoolSculpting is safe for men and women of any skin type or ethnicity. The procedure is not an alternative to weight loss, however. The ideal candidate will have isolated areas of bulging fat that are resistant to exercise and diet.

2. Which areas of the body does CoolSculpting® Elite work for?

CoolSculpting® Elite can be used to treat many different areas including the abdomen, flanks, upper back, lower back, arms, submental area, male breasts, and inner and outer thighs. There are seven different sizes of applicators that are available, allowing each CoolSculpting® Elite treatment to precisely address the individual target area.

3. How many CoolSculpting® Elite treatments will I need?

Typically, two treatments are needed, though the exact number of treatments you may need will depend on your specific goals and circumstances. CoolSculpting® Elite reduces the amount of fat in the area treated by 20 to 25 percent.

4. What does CoolSculpting® Elite feel like? Does it hurt?

CoolSculpting® Elite is a pretty easy and painless treatment. During the procedure, you may experience sensations of pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, or cramping at the treatment site. These sensations subside as the area becomes numb.

5. What can I do to maximize and prolong my CoolSculpting® Elite results?

Nothing is required, but a combination of cardio, strength training, and eating healthy is usually best for maximizing your CoolSculpting® Elite results.

1. Eat a Healthy Diet

CoolSculpting® Elite can be an excellent option to help you shed stubborn fat in nearly any area of your body, but it’s not a substitute for good old-fashioned healthy eating and exercise. To maximize and maintain amazing results after getting CoolSculpting® Elite, keep up with healthy eating habits, as you can still gain weight in areas that have previously been treated with CoolSculpting® Elite.

Some general healthy eating tips to keep in mind include:

  • Avoiding processed foods as much as possible
  • Limiting sugary drinks and sweets
  • Eating a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Drinking plenty of water

2. Exercise

As mentioned above, it is possible to gain weight after CoolSculpting® Elite, so sticking to a healthy eating and exercise routine is the best way to maintain your new body shape after your treatment.

In fact, many people find that CoolSculpting® Elite is a great motivator to stay on track with a healthy diet and exercise. Once you start to see the beginnings of your results in as little as two weeks after treatment, you might find that you’re extra motivated to treat your body well so you can get the most out of those results and keep them long-term.

3. Consider Additional Treatments

In many cases, you will see optimal results after a single CoolSculpting® Elite session. However, there may be some instances where your provider may recommend an additional treatment to see the best results. Discuss your options and progress with your provider to see if an additional treatment might be necessary to achieve your goals.

Keep in mind, too, that it will take some time for your full CoolSculpting® Elite results to develop. Be patient with your body as your results continue to improve over the coming weeks.

4. Choose an Experienced Provider

Finally, your CoolSculpting® Elite results will be largely dependent on the technique used and the skill and expertise of your provider. Do your homework prior to signing up for a treatment to make sure you are working with a trained and experienced professional to ensure the best possible results. A skilled provider should also give you specific before and after instructions to help you maximize your body-contouring results even further.

6. What is the difference between CoolSculpting® and CoolSculpting® Elite?

Many people often wonder what makes CoolSculpting® Elite different from CoolSculpting® Legacy, the classic CoolSculpting® option, and if this new device could be right for them.

Here are four big benefits of this upgraded body-sculpting technology.

1. Dual Applicators Mean Double the Treatment

DualSculpting allows you to get two CoolSculpting® Elite treatments at the same time, essentially cutting your total treatment time in half. But previously, DualSculpting was only available from providers who had more than one available CoolSculpting® device, so this option was not always readily available, depending on your location.

Now, every CoolSculpting® Elite device comes with two applicators, so you can maximize every appointment with the help of built-in DualSculpting. That means less time you’ll need to spend at your appointment and more time you can spend doing the things you love.

2. “C”-Shaped Applicator Covers More Skin

Another major difference between CoolSculpting® Elite and CoolSculpting® Legacy is that CoolSculpting® Elite now uses a “C”-shaped applicator, rather than the “U” shape of the Legacy device. This new shape allows for an astounding 18 percent more surface area coverage, so each treatment can be even faster and more efficient than before.

3. Precisely Target Nine Treatment Areas

CoolSculpting® Elite now comes with seven applicator options in a range of shapes and sizes that allow your provider to more precisely treat nine areas of your body, including your chin and jawline, thighs, upper arms, hips, waist, back, bra rolls, and banana rolls (under the buttocks).

And because of the built-in DualSculpting we mentioned earlier, you can treat two of these areas at the same time.

4. Cutting-Edge Technology for Even Better Results

So many people’s most-loved cosmetic treatment just got a facelift of its own! Other changes to the CoolSculpting® device include a sleeker, more compact Elite machine and more advanced freezing technology for the most efficient non-surgical body contouring results possible.
