Xeomin in Boca Raton, FL

Located in Boca Raton and serving the residents of West Palm Beach and all of South Florida, Sanctuary Medical Center offers Xeomin® and other cosmetic fillers and injectables to those who desire cosmetic dermatology.

What is Xeomin®?

Xeomin® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to reduce the visibility of moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines/worry lines) just between the eyebrows.

Benefits of Xeomin®

Much like Botox®, Xeomin® is made from a substance known as the botulinum toxin. Many years ago, it was discovered that this toxin will force contracted muscles to relax within a few days of being injected. Many of the wrinkles that we experience over the years are the result of clenched facial muscles, and Xeomin® can relax these muscles for months on end. When compared to Botox®, one of the biggest benefits of Xeomin® is the fact that it contains absolutely no additives. This reduces a patient’s risk of developing a resistance to the product. Xeomin® also produces faster results and typically costs less than Botox®.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Xeomin®?

Anyone who is no longer happy with their appearance due to frown lines will make an excellent candidate for this treatment. Many of our younger patients have found that regular Xeomin® treatments will prevent wrinkles from developing in the first place. As for our older patients who have already developed frown lines, Xeomin® can reduce their visibility for up to six months with a single treatment.

What Areas Are Commonly Treated With Xeomin®

Xeomin® is generally used to treat dynamic wrinkles along the upper half of the face. In addition to reducing the visibility of frown lines, Xeomin® can also be used to treat crow’s feet (fine lines on the outside of the eyes) and wrinkles higher up on the forehead.

How Does Xeomin® Work?

The muscles just below our skin will often contract without us even realizing it. Within a short period of time, this can result in cosmetic issues such as fine lines and wrinkles. Xeomin® actually blocks the impulses that run through the nerves to the muscles so that they cannot contract. After the injections, the muscles will slowly begin to relax in the coming days, and the skin will become much smoother. The untreated facial muscles will continue to contract in a normal fashion, which means that your everyday facial expressions will not be affected.

Comparison of Xeomin® and Botox®

Both of these products have been approved to treat “dynamic wrinkles” with the botulinum toxin. Some of the advantages of Xeomin® include:

  • Faster results
  • A more affordable price
  • Absolutely no additives

How Is Xeomin® Administered?

This minimally-invasive treatment can often be carried out in as little as 30 minutes. The area to be treated will be cleaned, and the injection sites marked. In some cases, a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the skin and prevent any discomfort. A fine gauge needle is used to inject Xeomin® directly into the facial muscles. Immediately following the injections, patients can return to all of their regular daily activities.

What is the Cost of Xeomin® in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach, FL?

As with any other procedure or treatment, the cost of Xeomin® varies depending on the extent of the treatments. During your initial consultation, we will discuss payment options with you.
