Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing

Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing in Boca Raton, FL

Located in Boca Raton and serving the residents of West Palm Beach and all of South Florida, Sanctuary Medical Center offers Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing treatments as well as other laser resurfacing treatments to those who would like to have healthy-looking skin and a more youthful appearance through cosmetic laser treatments.

What is Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing?

Non-ablative laser resurfacing is a skin resurfacing treatment that sends pulses of light (microbeams) into the skin to gently treat the desired area without affecting healthy skin. The light is delivered in columns rather than across the entire area which helps promote a natural healing process of the treated areas. This results in significantly diminished scarring, fine lines and wrinkles as well as the promotion of healthier and smoother skin.

Where I Can Receive Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing?

While most patients receive it on and around the face, non-ablative laser resurfacing can be used anywhere on the body in which there is visible scarring, prominent signs of aging, and/or other skin damage.

What are the Advantages of Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing?

There are several advantages to non-ablative laser resurfacing, including:

  • Little or no recovery period
  • Excellent results for mild to medium wrinkling
  • Non-wounding treatment
  • Little or no pain and discomfort
  • Safe and effective treatment

How Long Does Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing Take?

Non-ablative laser resurfacing treatments may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half depending on the area to be treated and the technique used. A series of treatments over several weeks or months is recommended for most patients to achieve the full results of non-ablative laser resurfacing.

What Results Can I Expect from Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing?

You can expect to see gradual changes in the texture and pigment of the skin over the course of the treatments–more so than diminishing of deep wrinkles.

Are There Any Side Effects of Which I Should Be Aware?

Following the treatments, you may have some slight redness and minor swelling or even tightness of the skin; however, these typically subside over a few hours. Some patients may notice a pinkish tone over the treated area, but this goes away within a few days.

Are the Results with Non-Ablative Laser Resurfacing Permanent?

Non-ablative laser resurfacing usually requires several treatments over a number of weeks or months. While the results are long-lasting, we do recommend maintenance treatments. We will discuss this with you further during the course of your treatments.
